These people are psychopaths. They wait until you get attached to the game and then maybe you're a year inor like i was3 years into playing and BAM they ban you. If you want to get your account back you have to use a new account and submit a case through their website. This is no way to treat people and this game is gonna die because of it, and I will not feel bad when it does. A fun game, terrible company.
Scams, lies and threats:
At first I loved the game even though you have to spend a lot of money to get a decent looking avatar, so I spend over 100 on it an just bought AP before they banned my account. The reason for me being banned is apparently that I tried to get free credits in a way that violated their policies even though the only free credits I tried to get was through their offers on the game! Staff doesnt want to help nor send proof to me or even explain what exactly I did wrong". When I called them out in the public discussion they threatened me with "further disciplinary actions"!

But what happens when you pay is most often they just ban you for no reason (their trashy customer support never gives any explanations) and they simply take your money. I totally switched to

- I have never had any financial problems there. It’s way cheaper and I have been really enjoying it. It’s also a lot hotter than IMVU, there is more 100% adult-content. On the other hand, there are no pedophiles and predators - you come across them all the time on IMVU. So anyway, keep your wits about you if you use IMVU. My recommendation is to avoid it.
It was good at first now it turned bad.

keep disable my account, try'd to get my old account back, but that account got disable then i try'd again with my third email to get help. but no there public help sucks, with no help and only think of money. if you ask for help to get you account open you need a fricking account to do that. how can you call that fair and easy to get you account back.

how hard can it be to make a email they can contact you on, or a side where you can access with another account to get help that isnt connected to the account so you dont need to make a new one again.

I don't even understand what they're trying to impress. Why would they put a age verification and adult content pass on a game that's only meant for adults? It doesn't make any sense to put a age verification when the game is rated for mature adults. They should remove the +18 passes and stop banning users that didn't violate the community guidelines or.... for some unknown reasons. If they don't allow sexual content. Then why would they rated imvu "M +18" in the Google Play Store and Apple Store? Like, I'm literally confused by how dumb they are which is making me feel like my brain is having a stroke. Not only that I'm losing my IQ point I'm also losing brain function. Please do not download this app.
There was a petition for IMVU creators getting banned across the platform back in February. I happened to be one of those creators who got banned due to unethical behavior of staff and unfair business practices. IMVU censors their AP creators and not only do they violate consumer rights but also they extort their customers. Read their refund policy carefully before investing. Many complaints have been filed against IMVU in the past and this company allows room for exploitation.
Be carful if you get their AP package, which you would THINK is ment for adults who use the site, but they have been taken away everything that makes AP what it is. All because they can not get off their a**es and do proper security checks on those who purchased AP, which leads to under aged users getting it illegally and ruining it for genuine users.
Here is a quote from their site about AP "The Access Pass (AP) is a feature available to adults who are age 18 and older. The Access Pass helps adults connect online in a safe environment. AP holders gain special privileges to AP-Only Rooms, AP-Only Groups, exclusive content in our catalog, and much more!". WHICH IS A TOTAL LIE!, "oh this item acts like what it would in real. let's ban the creator and remove the item so no one else can use it" NO BLOOMING WANDER THE BLACK MARKET IS AROUND.
But alot of stuff has been taken off in the past years, and now AP sucks now. They should give people a chance to get their money back for it, or heck, get rid of it all together and make it a place for under 18s only, and not have an option to spend real money.
If you want a genuine adult 3D avitar expeciance, either go to Second Life, Red Light Centeral or VRChat. Let this scam of a site fall.

I have been on the site for over 10 years
This is my 3 year on imvu. The app glitches way to much, customer service is horrible, surveys don’t work and they don’t listen to what the customer wants. It’s a shame. I would only recommend if they don’t have a pc. I would suggest to them to sponsor a celeb like sweetie cause there is not many people active anymore. Most people have moved on to another virtual game.
IMVU will randomly delete your account if you're inactive! I suggest you do not waste your precious time and money like I did. All the hard work and money spent -GONE!
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!
I purchased an IMVU offer through the website (PC). The offer was for Tunnel Bear, a one-year subscription (40 dollars) for 55,000 credits.
I spoke to various agents on the live chat. At first, the offer did not appear on the offer status page, so I contacted them, then it appeared (thankfully), but with the status of the offer as "clicked." Meaning, it wasn't completed. I reported it, considering I did complete it, but it disappeared the next day. So I contacted help again, they brought the offer back and once I submitted my report again, they denied it.
The last agent I spoke to, Aubrey has been the least helpful as they repeatedly told me to complete the steps again, even though I could NOT because they denied it. Additionally, they implied that I did not actually complete the offer despite the fact that I have proof. They lied and said they can't accept screenshots. I have sent screenshots to previous agents once they allow me to send files. Also, that makes no sense because how else are people supposed to provide evidence of their purchases??? Make it make sense.
Eventually, they told me, "we are already running in circles, I will be forced to end this chat if you don't have any concern aside from this?" Apparently, sending a screenshot of the email confirmation and on the app is not considered "completed." I don't know why this isn't sufficient considering that the screenshot was of the confirmation.

Out of nostalgia, hoping there would be one good thing left on the internet that hasn't become crappy... I re-downloaded IMVU. I remember being able to chat with friends and have MUSIC and videos playing in the chat rooms. That was always amazing to me. Music has been an extremely important part of my life. You USED to be able to play music using a Youtube player... but now, apparently, IMVU has attempted to capitalize on this. Now, you have to BUY MUSIC in order to play it... and you must buy one song at a time. This is not stated clearly ANYWHERE. I bought items using my credits that I *THOUGHT* were supposed to play music. If you're going to remove one of the best features of something and replace it with something stupid - at least make it clear. Remove the items from stores that worked PERFECTLY FINE BEFORE so that people are not mislead into thinking they still work. I understand buying music to support the artists. I don't have any problem with that. What I have a problem with, is that it is EXTREMELY difficult to find information about HOW to play music on IMVU to begin with and if I've ALREADY BOUGHT music from an artist on Amazon or their official site, why do I need to buy it again on IMVU just to listen to it on YOUR website? All I wanted to do was create a digital space to hang out with friends and listen to music / watch videos from Youtube. The internet has become very VERY stupid since I was a teenager. It used to be awesome. What the $#*! happened?
I've been on IMVU since 2009-2010. I was a 9-10 year old kid playing this game and I still hop on to this day (a new account though since I can't remember what 9-year-old me used for an email). I've played on and off (due to school) through my teen years and now as a 20-year-old, let met just say this.
Staff doesn't care. They really don't. If your account is hacked then that's it. Say goodbye to your account! If you're dealing with a stalker or harassment, staff won't do a single thing. Pedophilia is a HUGE HUGE HUGE problem on this game and as someone who has AP and is age verified, I've had to kick minors from the AP rooms I'm a mod in. I've emailed IMVU staff before with chat logs and photos and all I've gotten from the staff is a copy-and-pasted message about how they can't do anything unless there's chat logs -- WHEN THERE WERE CHAT LOGS.
Toxicity is another huge issue within the community but that's expected with any community. It's very much like an early 2000s high school film if it was a game. Transphobia is rampant throughout the game and if you're trans, like I am, get ready to deal with creeps wanting to fetishize you and jerks who like to harrass you.
I really would NOT recommend this game for kids at all. The biggest and most important issue is the pedophilia and it's obvious staff doesn't care about it. They'd rather not deal with it and pretend like it doesn't exist despite this being a problem for YEARS. As a kid when I first started playing, I remember 30-40 year old men trying to groom me. It's just insane.
This website makes their own rules as they go along. They never fix anything that goes wrong on the website and the customer service is useless. All of their community board moderators and the manager of it whose avatar name is ShannonMac are clueless and treat their customers like crap and ignore all the questions and complaints. They are on a power trip and do not care one bit about the customers, all they care about is suspending members accounts or banning them from posting on the community board and silencing them. One of the community board moderators named Sugercone doesnt do a single thing to help any of the members except she loves to threaten the customers and suspend them. She is useless and disrespectful but her manager always backs and stands up for these moderators and tells the customers they are wrong no matter what.And you cant get anybody on the phone at this website to tell them about how they treat you because they never pick up the phone. They never give updates and you end up paying your membership for useless music that doesnt work. They only get back to you when they suspend you or threaten you.They try to censor their customers so they shut up and go away so they dont have to do anything.If you voice your opinions about things that are wrong on the site they remove all your posts and threaten you. The music has been broken on this site for years now and if you complain about it they threaten you with suspensions and bans.It still has never been fixed and people have paid thousands of dollars for music that skips or stops or doesnt work at all. Their website engineers are incompetent and have no idea how to fix anything. When they try to it takes years for them to come up with something.No website should be allowed to take money from people for this kind of broken defective service. They had over 3 1/2 years to be ready for the Adobe Flash Player to stop working which would stop the customers from sampling the music before they buy it and they did absolutely nothing in those 3 1/2 years to have a solution for when it stopped. That was announced in 2017 that the Flash Player was being discontinued and would be ending at the end of 2020 and now the music sampling doesnt work anymore and they are telling us all to have patience and understanding... lol... what a joke. They had 3 1/2 years and sat on their asses and did nothing and now they say they are working on it. Yet they continue to take members money every day for a broken service. People are getting smart now and leaving this website and not renewing their memberships. Anybody thinking about joining this website please dont waste your hard earned money. You will regret it. Avoid it at all costs. I have learned my lesson the hard way and wasted thousands of dollars on this crap and have been dis-respected by these unprofessional moderators and managers that control this site and have no respect for their paying customers. They will regret it as more people stop paying to be on it anymore. IMVU stands for I AM VIOLENT at YOU because thats how this bunch of people come at the customers. They just steal your money and laugh at you as they spit in your face. I would have rated it at ZERO stars but you have to give it at least one star on here according to the ratings but believe me, it is a ZERO rating... DONT EVER JOIN THIS WEBSITE NO MATTER WHAT!

Last time I saw, you have to be at least age 14 to join. They may have changed it to higher age bracket by now.
